Celine Loyer has good showings in Ottawa

Ottawa-

Sudbury Sprinter Celine Loyer captured two good showings at the Ottawa Lions Super Saturday Indoor Track and Field Series. The College Boreal Student placed a close 4th in the womens 60m dash and 3rd in the womens 150m dash. This is Loyer`s first Indoor competition of 2010. Other DSSG Athletes did well on the weekend also Patrick Defrense place in the top 6 at the Flying Angels indoor meet at York University on Saturday in the Junior Mens Long Jump

All results at www.ottawalions.com (some of the races in the womens 150m were mixed and womens times were summarized)

"I've been focusing on longer special endurance runs this season up to 400m, therefore pushing my pure speed aside. We are focusing on the outdoor season this year and only participating in a few selected indoor meets just to keep my chops up. The Ottawa meet had over 800 athletes from Canada and the U.S. it was quite exciting and alot of fun" Celine Loyer,

"The work that the New Northern Ontario Speed and Strength Development Zone is doing is paying off , Francis Theriault at the Dept of Human Kinetics has been very instrumental in getting us organized , his passion for helping us in the research we are doing has been great. We have received interest from the Nigerian track and field federation, Bulgaria as well as working with Northern athletes, We are going to be working with the likes of some of Canada's top sprinters and field event people in the next few weeks" David Case Head Coach DSSG AThletics Club, Director Northern Ontario Speed and Strength Development Zone.
