OctoOctober 11, 2004 - 3rd Annual
Turkey Gobbler
Fun Run &
Nature Walk
|
Fall was definitely in the air this Monday in Naughton where
the the Walden Cross Country Fitness Club hosted their 3rd Annual
Nature Walk and Run. Approximately 75 participants came out to
enjoy northern fall colours at their finest. Some strolled, some
walked, others ran and a few ran fast as they traversed the 3k
or 6k loop of the Naughton Trail System. The course was in excellent
condition and all comers were awed by nature's free colour show.
And awaiting their finish was a bonus barbeque including hot dogs,
sausages, drinks and even a basket of good tasting local apples.
All this for $5 for adults and $2 for kids. I foresee this event
gaining in popularity as locals discover the beauty and ease of
access to this area.
Congratulations to the Organizers (Jeff Sewell and all) for putting
on a great event.
Note: Jeff did
request I let everyone know the 3k loop is lighted and they will
be turned on Wednesday evenings for those who would like an evening
stroll or run.

Kerry Abols will be competing
in his first Ironman Triathlon World Championship in Kailua-Kona

by turning a very fast 10:07:03 in Penticton's Ironman Canada.
That speed was good enough to earn him a spot at the Big Show.
Good luck Kerry!

she's one of the best rookies in the OUA."
Laurentian's next race is the Queen's Open in Kingston on
Saturday October 16th.
